Mid Century Modern Kitchen
This kitchen draws heavily on the property's mid-century character. The base cabinetry is crafted from Sapele, while the wall units are made from Maple. Using a lighter timber for the upper cabinetry helps maintain a sense of openness and prevents the units from dominating the space.
The client wanted the island to feel like a standalone piece of furniture while remaining fully functional as part of the kitchen. This was achieved through carefully considered details, including drawer pulls inspired by an existing chest of drawers and turned legs that give the island a freestanding appearance, in contrast to conventional kitchen cabinetry with continuous plinths.
From the built-in display cabinets to the handcrafted dovetail drawers, every element has been meticulously detailed, resulting in a truly unique kitchen.
